Airliner fuselage in the jungle canopy
A 1965 Boeing 727 that flew for South Africa Air and Avianca before being salvaged from San José airport and set on a 50-foot pedestal at the jungle's edge above Manuel Antonio. Inside the fuselage: two air-conditioned bedrooms with hand-carved Javanese teak, each with private bath, and a deck built over the former right wing at canopy height. The catch: One much-photographed suite inside a busy resort — it carries a steep novelty premium over Costa Verde's regular rooms and books out far in advance.
